Nonresident owners generally must register vehicles in the proper county, but some temporary out-of-state use is allowed without Nebraska registration. The DMV or Revenue Department can treat certain out-of-state entities as shell companies, require notice, and assess a 50% penalty for unpaid taxes and fees.
