G.}{\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 Sekabunga }{\insrsid12061900\charrsid6954748 surgeon}{\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 to Mulago }{\insrsid12061900\charrsid6954748 Hospital, }{ \insrsid13788685\charrsid6954748 the plaintiff}{\insrsid12061900\charrsid6954748 , }{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 a boy aged 10 year stepped on loose electric wire }{\insrsid8731402 lying on the ground on 15/15/92, }{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 he was }{\insrsid13788685\charrsid6954748 admitted}{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 in virika }{\insrsid13788685\charrsid6954748 hospital}{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 .}{\insrsid13788685 }{\insrsid13788685\charrsid6954748 On}{ \insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 examination he was }{\insrsid13788685 unconscious}{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 with}{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 the extensive burn wounds on the fro nt and back of the chest and abdomen ,penis,scrotum and upper and lower }{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 limb. he}{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 was treated with analgesics to control the pain and anti }{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 biotic}{ \insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 to prevent }{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 infection. after}{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 one day he gained }{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 conscious}{\insrsid6836096\charrsid6954748 ness .his progress was slow and he was discharged on 15/1/93,he was advised to attend physiotherapy exercises .when the doctor saw him on 5/5/93 he was still unable to go back to }{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 school. }{ \insrsid13788685\charrsid6954748 The}{\insrsid68882\charrsid6954748 wounds on the chest and abdomen were healed but the wounds behind both knees were not }{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 healed. }{\insrsid13788685\charrsid6954748 He}{ \insrsid68882\charrsid6954748 has limited movements of both knees and complained of }{\insrsid8731402 impotence,}{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 his permanent }{\insrsid8731402 disability was assessed at 60%. I}{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 accept the medical repot how ever it is not clear from the report whether the plaintiff was confirmed as being impotent as the report only says that the plaintiff wa s only complaining of impotence. I viewed the plaintiff in court and saw for my self the injuries complained about for the penis there is only a stump left it is possible that the plaintiff is impotent but the court would have been greatly assisted if the doctor made his own finding, confirming or denying what the plaintiff said especially considering the tender age. the plaintiff a young boy has been crippled by the injuries and the assessment of disability at 60%is not exaggerated in the circumstances.} {\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 \par Mr. Mugabi, in his submission said that the plaintiff }{\insrsid15814633\charrsid6954748 received}{\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 grave injuries as a }{\i\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 result }{\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 of the burns that be has got scars and stiffness i}{\insrsid3035844\charrsid6954748 n the legs which make him walk like}{\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 a robot. That there is possibility of further }{\insrsid3035844\charrsid6954748 treatment}{ \insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 as the knees have not yet healed. The plaintiff was }{\insrsid3035844\charrsid6954748 hospitalized}{\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 for 7 months and he suffered incalculable pain. He further submitted that the plaintiff will never marry or have }{\insrsid3035844\charrsid6954748 sexual}{\insrsid679607\charrsid6954748 relations, nor have any children}{\insrsid8731402 as a result of the accident. Counsel submitted that the plaintiffs counsels submission that the plaintiff may have problems in }{\insrsid6954748\charrsid6954748 future and}{\insrsid3107619\charrsid6954748 that his pain is incalculable were baseless as they were not supported by the medical report.
