IN THE SUPREME COURT OF SEYCHELLES CHRISTIANNE FLORENTINE PLAINTIFF VERSUS MICHEL LANDRY DEFENDANT Civil Side No 48 of Mr. F. Bonte for the Plaintiff Defendant absent/unrepresented Perera J JUDGMENT The plaintiff sues the defendant for recovery of the sum of Rs.55,000 which the defendant undertook to pay on or before 31st December 2005 upon an “acknowledgment of debt” dated 17th March 2005. Notice of the plaint was served on the defendant for appearance in Court on 2nd May 2006. However as he defaulted appearance, the case was fixed for exparte hearing on 12th June 2006. On 12th June 2006, the defendant was absent and unrepresented. Learned Counsel for the plaintiff produced the said “acknowledgement of debt” and submitted that no payment has been made so far. The Court accordingly enters judgment in favour of the plaintiff in a sum of Rs.55,000 together with legal interest and costs. A. R. PERERA ………………………… JUDGE Dated this 12th day of June 2006
