RULING

The applicant, D B R, seeks custody of the child, I P N R ‘the child’.  According to the applicant’s deposition dated 27th September 2017, the child was abandoned by the mother, A M R, at birth.  The child’s mother is the applicant’s daughter.  The applicant, according to the evidence, is the child’s primary caregiver.  The applicant wishes to travel with the child hence the application before the court.

I am satisfied that it is in the best interests of the child to grant the applicant custody pending adoption proceedings.  I accordingly grant the applicant, D B R full care, custody and control of, I P N R.
