Ruling

1. This is an Application for judgment on the Certificate of Taxation (Hon Silvia Motari), dated 17th February 2025. The same being a subsequent certificate following a successful reference that had been filed by the Advocate. The Certificate is for the sum of Ksh 825,578=.

2. The Application which is brought under Section 51 (2) of the Advocates Act Cap 16 Laws of Kenya, is unopposed, as the Respondent did not file any response to it. The Application was argued orally.

Determination 3. As the Certificate is valid and has not been set aside, the Application is hereby allowed; in terms that judgment is hereby entered for the Applicant/Advocate against the Client The Standard Group Ltd,for the sum of Ksh 825,578=. Being the sum of the Advocate-Client costs stated in the said Certificate of Taxation. A decree shall issue for that amount. This shall be interest from the date when the Bill of Costs was served on the Client.

4. The Applicant is also hereby awarded costs for this Application which I hereby assess at Ksh 10,000=
