Ruling

1. The Applicant was sentenced to ten (10) years imprisonment for defilement of a boy on 12th January 2024.

2. The Applicant appealed and the appeal was dismissed on 15th February 2024.

3. The Applicant has filed this application seeking the period he was in remand to be reduced from the 10 years imprisonment term.

4. The application is not opposed and the same is allowed.

5. Section 333(2) of the Criminal Procedure Codes allows the same.

6. The 10 years imprisonment to start running from 8th October 2019 when he was first arraigned in court and not from 12th January 2024 when he was sentenced by the trial court.
