IN THE MATTER OF BABY E.N

RULING

1. The applicant’s Originating Summons was heard on 22nd June 2012 and the judgement therein set for 21st September 2012. The same has unfortunately been delayed for the reason that the trial judge was preparing for vetting by the Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board.

2. In the course of writing the judgement the court has observed that the applicants have appointed a sole male legal guardian in this case, notwithstanding that the adoption cause is in respect of a girl child. The court is not inclined to allow that. I direct that the applicants correct this anomaly.

3. Having noted also that only payslips have been produced as evidence of means, and being of the view that the income represented thereby is inadequate to support the adoption, I direct that additional documentation to prove the applicants' means and financial standing be filed in the form of title deed(s) and bank statements.

4. Orders accordingly.
