CORAM:  D.S MAJANJA J.

CRIMINAL CASE  NO. 19 OF 2018

BETWEEN

REPUBLIC................................................................PROSECUTOR

AND

JAMES OMOKE NYANDORO......................................ACCUSED

RULING ON SENTENCE

I convicted the accused, JAMES OMOKE NYANDORO for the offence of murder.  On 20th April 2018 at Botabori Sublocation Gucha South, he set the deceased, NICODEMUS OYUGI MOBISA, a 8 year old child on fire.

I found that the accused actions were deliberate and not warranted given that the child was only 8 years old.

I have noted the plea by the accused for leniency.  He is a first offender and regrets his action. I sentence, JAMES OMOKE NYANDORO to twenty five (25) years imprisonment.  Right of Appeal explained.

Ruling read and delivered in open Court this 10th December 2018.
