RULING ON SENTENCE

The accused pleaded guilty and was convicted for manslaughter after a plea bargain.

The deceased was the accused’s father and both of them were drunk on the fateful day.

The accused is remorseful and the home report shows that the home people have no issues with him and are ready to receive him.

The pre-sentencing report is favourable.

The accused has been in custody for almost three years.

I therefore place him on probation for three years under the supervision of the county probation officer.

Conditions regarding probation are explained to him.

Orders accordingly.
