1. Joyce Wangari Njogu (herein referred to as the Accused) was charged with three counts of Murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code.

2. The particulars of Count I are that on the 29th day of August 2016 at Kiambereria Location in Molo Sub- County within Nakuru County, she murdered Jackson Gathoni Kahiru.

3. In regard to Count II, the particulars are that on the 29th day of August 2016 at Kiambereria Location in Molo Sub- County within Nakuru County, she murdered Hope Gathoni Wanjiku.

4. The particulars of Count III are that on the 29th day of August 2016 at Kiambereria Location in Molo Sub- County within Nakuru County, she murdered Mary Wanjiku.

5. She pleaded not guilty and the Prosecution closed its case on evidence of its Nine (9) witnesses.

6. Parties agreed to file and exchange submissions but defence did not comply. After considering the evidence on record together with submissions by the Prosecution, this Court is satisfied that a prima facie case has been established against the accused .

7. Consequently, she is hereby placed on her defence under Section 306 (2) of the Criminal Procedure Code.

8. Detailed reasons thereof will be in the judgment.
