S E N T E N C E

Mitigation considered.  The accused is a young man aged 23 years old.  The Probation Officer’s report is favourable.  The circumstances of the offence are not aggravated.  No weapon was used by the accused during the fight.  The accused and the deceased are said to have been great friends who fought during a drunken stupor.  This court is inclined to mete out a non-custodial sentence.

The accused is placed on probation for three years.  Right of Appeal 14 days.
