RULING ON SENTENCE

1. I have considered the submissions of learned counsel on sentence.

2. I have considered the mitigation made on behalf of the applicants and the 18 years has have served.

3. I have also considered the victim impact request on record considering that he is still undertaking studies and is in form 3 in prison, I set aside the death sentence and sentence the applicant to 20 years imprisonment. The term is to run from the 15/08/2001 when he was first sentenced.
