The accused was convicted of the lesser offence of Manslaughter after plea bargaining.

The accused is the son of the deceased.

The social inquiry filed herein is not favourable to the accused person.  The offence committed is serious and a non-custodial sentence will not assist the accused in reformation.

I have considered that the accused has been in custody for about eight (8) months.

Order

He is sentenced to seven (7) years imprisonment.
