Ruling

1. The applicant was sentenced to serve eight (8) years from 23/6/2021. He has only served two and a half (2 ½) years. The application is therefore too premature.

2. The prisons officers are directed to comply with the instructions of the court and avail files where the inmates have served long periods of time and have only three (3) years left, or where they were sentenced to serve three (3) years and below.

3. File to be returned to the lower court for safe custody.Orders accordingly.
