Statute overview

About this statute

This article lists several acts that count as minor infractions related to vehicle dismantling compliance. After dismantling a vehicle, the dismantling company must register the used parts or assemblies for reuse in the Article 11 database within 5 business days and include all cadastral information required by Contran. This provision defines “desmontagem” and “empresa de desmontagem” for the Law. A company can only operate and register if it meets the listed compliance requirements, and the transit authority must inspect and decide on the registration within the stated deadlines. Empresário individual e sociedade empresária must still comply with other applicable rules and may be subject to resulting sanctions, including for waste and residue handling from dismantled or destroyed vehicles.
