Statute overview

About this statute

If telecom or broadcasting service providers fail to comply with obligations under this law, they are subject to the sanctions in Article 173 of Law No. 9,472/1997, and a daily fine also applies. If concessionaires of electric energy fail to comply with the obligations in this law, they are subject to the sanctions set out in the cited laws. Transmission concessionaires must measure electric and magnetic field levels or provide a compliance calculation report when authorizing, commissioning, or changing a transmission system; the federal energy regulator may set exceptions, and the report must be sent to the regulator and published online.
