About this statute

This law enters into force on the date it is published. This provision prohibits putting expressions that indicate poverty or similar conditions in birth and death certificates. This article amends Article 30 of Law No. 6,015/1973 to prohibit including expressions that indicate poverty or similar conditions in the certificates covered by paragraph 1. This article amends Article 45 of Law 8,935/1994 so that recognized poor persons are not charged fees for the certificates covered by that article, and the certificates may not contain wording that indicates poverty.
