(Consolidated up to 130/2026) ALBERTA REGULATION 42/2018 Conflicts of Interest Act CONFLICTS OF INTEREST ACT PART 4.3 DESIGNATION ORDER Definitions 1 In this Order, (a) “Act” means the Conflicts of Interest Act ; (b) “CEO” means Chief Executive Officer; (c) “subsidiaries” means one or more subsidiaries within the meaning of section 2 of the Business Corporations Act ; (d) “successor body” means a successor to a public agency listed in column 1 of the Schedule, or to a body that is to be treated as a public agency pursuant to section 23.921(1)(c) of the Act and which is listed in column 1 if, in the opinion of the Minister, there is a successor body; (e) “successor position” means a successor to a position listed in column 2 or 3 of the Schedule if, in the opinion of the Minister, there is a successor position. Designations 2 For the purposes of section 23.921(3) and (4) of the Act, (a) the public agencies listed in column 1 of Table 1 of the Schedule, their subsidiaries and any successor body, are designated as public agencies whose senior officials may be designated under section 23.921(4)(b) of the Act, (b) the bodies listed in column 1 of Table 2 of the Schedule that, pursuant to section 23.921(1)(c) of the Act, are to be treated as a public agency for the purposes of Part 4.3 of the Act, their subsidiaries and any successor body are designated as public agencies whose senior officials may be designated under section 23.921(4)(b) of the Act, (c) the public agency positions identified in column 2 of Tables 1 and 2 of the Schedule and any successor positions are, for the purposes of section 23.921(3) of the Act, senior official positions, and (d) the senior official positions identified in column 3 of Tables 1 and 2 of the Schedule and any successor positions are designated, for the purposes of section 23.921(4)(b) of the Act as having the obligations of designated senior officials for the purposes of Part 4.3 of the Act.
