Korean Heritage Month Act 17 2025 October 30, 2025 1007424485/1536409925/555608465 E4tlc25017 Preamble WHEREAS Korean-Canadians have made significant social, economic, cultural, religious, military, philanthropic and political contributions to the social fabric of British Columbia and to the strength, resiliency and diversity of our communities; AND WHEREAS the month of October is a historically significant month for the Korean-Canadian community as Korean people celebrate National Foundation Day on October 3, which commemorates the legendary formation of the first Korean state of Gojoseon; AND WHEREAS the designation of October as Korean Heritage Month will provide an opportunity to coordinate, support and promote events, initiatives and programs to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about the outstanding achievements and contributions of Korean-Canadians in the province of British Columbia; AND WHEREAS the Legislature wishes to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions that Korean-Canadians have made and continue to make in building British Columbian society; THEREFORE HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows: Korean Heritage Month 1 The month of October is "Korean Heritage Month" throughout British Columbia.
