Intercountry Adoption (Hague Convention) Regulation, M.R. 23/99 The Intercountry Adoption (Hague Convention) Act , C.C.S.M. c. A3 Regulation 23/99 Registered February 19, 1999 bilingual version (HTML) Adoption Act regulations apply 1 Regulations made under The Adoption Act with respect to adoptions under Division 3 of Part 3 of that Act that are within the scope of the Convention apply to adoptions governed by The Intercountry Adoption (Hague Convention) Act . Adoption agencies as accredited bodies 2(1) Subject to subsection (2), the Central Authority may designate an adoption agency as an accredited body under the Convention to perform such functions as are specified by the Central Authority for the purposes of the Convention. Licence required 2(2) An adoption agency designated under subsection (1) must be licensed to provide adoption services under Division 3 (Intercountry Adoptions) of Part 3 of The Adoption Act with respect to adoptions within the scope of the Convention. Revocation or amendment of designation 3 The Central Authority may revoke or amend a designation under subsection 2(1). Review 4 Not later than March 14, 2004, the minister shall (a) review the operation of this regulation including consulting with such persons affected by it as the minister considers appropriate; and (b) if the minister considers it advisable, recommend to the Lieutenant Governor in Council that the regulation be amended or repealed. Coming into force 5 This regulation comes into force on March 15, 1999.
