Fire safety inspection fees 2(1) The fee for carrying out a fire safety inspection is $125 per hour, or part of an hour. 2(2) As an exception to subsection (1), the fee for carrying out a fire safety inspection is $2,500 if, in the opinion of the fire commissioner, (a) the land or premises inspected contain highly combustible, flammable or explosive materials which, because of their inherent characteristics, constitute a special fire or explosive hazard; or (b) a special fire or explosive hazard, or a special risk in respect of the release of a hazardous substance, exists on the land or premises as a result of (i) the condition, construction or alteration of a building or structure — whether at, above or below grade — or excavation, or part of a building, structure or excavation, on the land or premises, or (ii) the production of one or more analogues or controlled substances, within the meaning of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Canada), on the land or premises. 2(3) A fee imposed under this section is payable by the owner of the land or premises that is inspected. M.R. 96/2018 Enrollment fees 3 A fee of no more than $20,000 may be charged and collected for each course provided by a training college or a regional training school established or operated under section 34 of The Fires Prevention and Emergency Response Act . Waiver of fee 4 The fire commissioner may waive a person's obligation to pay the whole or part of a fee charged or imposed under this regulation if, in the opinion of the fire commissioner, the payment would create an undue financial hardship to the person. Repeal 5 The Fire College Fees Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 21/93, is repealed.
