Government-Funded Legal Representation Regulation, M.R. 153/2014 The Department of Justice Act , C.C.S.M. c. J35 Regulation 153/2014 Registered May 26, 2014 bilingual version (HTML) Definitions 1 The following definitions apply in this regulation. "Act" means The Department of Justice Act . (« Loi ») "executive director" means the executive director of Legal Aid Manitoba. (« directeur général ») Retaining lawyer 2 The executive director is responsible for retaining a lawyer for a person in the circumstances referred to in subsection 15.1(1) of the Act. Pay and disbursements 3(1) A lawyer acting in the circumstances set out in section 15.1 of the Act is to be paid at the hourly rate payable to solicitors in the tariff of fees established by the management council of Legal Aid Manitoba under section 6.1 of The Legal Aid Manitoba Act , and reimbursed for disbursements in accordance with that tariff of fees. 3(2) The lawyer must submit an itemized statement of account to the executive director and provide any additional information or documentation requested by the executive director in relation to amounts claimed in the statement of account. M.R. 86/2021 Coming into force 4 This regulation comes into force on the same day that The Department of Justice Amendment Act , S.M. 2013 c. 33, comes into force.
