"cervid" means any member of a species or subspecies of the deer family (cervidae) . (« cervidé ») "director" means the person in the department with the title "Director of the Wildlife Branch". (« directeur ») "game hunting area" means a game hunting area designated under the Hunting Areas and Zones Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 220/86. (« zone de chasse au gibier ») Purpose 2 The purpose of this regulation is to prevent the spread of chronic wasting disease and bovine tuberculosis among cervids in certain areas of the province by prohibiting persons from placing items to attract cervids. Cervid attractant restriction 4 No person shall place any thing or substance in game hunting area 5, 6, 6A, 11, 12, 13, 13A, 18, 18A, 18B, 18C, 23, 23A or 27 or the portion of game hunting area 22 west of Provincial Trunk Highway 83 for the purpose of luring or attracting cervids without first obtaining written permission from the director. 5 [Repealed] M.R. 109/2021 ; 7/2022
