"Act" means The Ecological Reserves Act . («  Loi ») "director" means the person designated as Director of Ecological Reserves under section 3.1 of the Act. (« directeur ») "ecological reserve" means an ecological reserve designated under the Ecological Reserves Designation Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 166/87. (« réserve écologique ») Permits 2(1) The director may issue a permit for the purpose of conducting an activity of a scientific, research or educational nature within an ecological reserve. 2(2) The director may impose such terms and conditions on a permit as he or she considers appropriate. 2(3) A permit must not be issued for a period longer than 12 months. Reports 3(1) The director may require the holder of a permit to provide the director and the committee with a report respecting any activities undertaken by the holder under the permit by a specified deadline, and the director may require the holder to address specific issues in the report. 3(2) The holder of a permit must provide the director and the committee with the required report that addresses all requested issues by the specified deadline. Cancellation of permit 4 The director may cancel a permit if he or she determines that the holder has failed to comply with the Act, this regulation or any term or condition imposed on the permit. Permitted entry to ecological reserves 5(1) A person may enter and travel on foot within the following ecological reserves: (a) Armit Meadows Ecological Reserve; (b) Baralzon Lake Ecological Reserve; (c) Birch River Ecological Reserve; (d) Brokenhead River Ecological Reserve; (d.1) Cedar Bog Ecological Reserve; (d.2) Cowan Bog Ecological Reserve; (e) Holmgren Pines Ecological Reserve; (f) Jennifer and Tom Shay Ecological Reserve; (g) Lake St. George Caves Ecological Reserve, as long as the person does not enter any cave located within the ecological reserve; (h) Lake Winnipegosis Salt Flats Ecological Reserve; (h.1) Lewis Bog Ecological Reserve; (h.2) Libau Bog Ecological Reserve; (h.3) Palsa Hazel Ecological Reserve; (h.4) Piney Ecological Reserve; (i) Pocock Lake Ecological Reserve; (j) Red Rock Ecological Reserve; (k) Reindeer Island Ecological Reserve; (k.1) St. Labre Bog Ecological Reserve; (k.2) Ste. Anne Bog Ecological Reserve; (l) Wampum Ecological Reserve; (l.1) Whitemouth Bog Ecological Reserve; (m) Whitemouth Island Ecological Reserve; (n) Whitemouth River Ecological Reserve; (o) Woodridge Ecological Reserve. 5(2) A person may land a boat on the shoreline to gain access to the following ecological reserves: (a) Red Rock Ecological Reserve; (b) Reindeer Island Ecological Reserve; (c) Whitemouth Island Ecological Reserve; (d) Lake Winnipegosis Salt Flats Ecological Reserve. M.R. 224/2015 ; 90/2016 Permitted activities in Baralzon Lake Ecological Reserve 6 A person may do the following in Baralzon Lake Ecological Reserve: (a) engage in recreational fishing on Baralzon Lake; (b) operate a motorized or unmotorized water craft on Baralzon Lake for recreational fishing purposes; (c) use Baralzon Lake for airplane take-offs and landings. Permitted activities in Brokenhead River Ecological Reserve 7 A person may operate a motorized or unmotorized water craft on that portion of the Whitemouth River that passes through Brokenhead River Ecological Reserve. Permitted activities in Pocock Lake Ecological Reserve 8 A person may operate a motor vehicle on the fire road located within Pocock Lake Ecological Reserve. Permitted activities in Red Rock Ecological Reserve 9 A person may operate a snowmobile on existing snowmobile trails in Red Rock Ecological Reserve. Permitted activities in Walter Cook Caves Ecological Reserve 10 The holder of a registered trapline permit for the Grand Rapids Registered Trapline Section as shown in Director of Survey Plan 19319D may engage in trapping for commercial purposes in Walter Cook Caves Ecological Reserve. Permitted activities in Whitemouth River Ecological Reserve 11 A person may (a) operate a motorized or unmotorized water craft on that portion of the Whitemouth River that passes through Whitemouth River Ecological Reserve; and (b) operate a motor vehicle on an existing trail within the Whitemouth River Ecological Reserve.
