CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 371/96 Town of Placentia Order under the Municipalities Act (O.C. 96-170) Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order. ORDER Analysis 1. Short title 2. Boundaries 3. Repeal Schedule Short title 1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Placentia Order . Back to Top Boundaries 2. The boundaries of the Town of Placentia are as set out in the Schedule. Back to Top Repeal 3. Newfoundland Regulations 188/93 and 30/94 are repealed. Back to Top Schedule Beginning at a point on the highwater mark of the western end of Black Cove in Placentia Bay ; Then south 50° 00' east 1,200 metres, more or less, to a high point, spot elevation 115 metres; Then south 81° 30' east 1,007 metres, more or less, to a point of intersection of the eastern sideline of the Point Verde Road (cut off section) with the western sideline of Southeast Placentia Road, Route 91; Then in a generally southerly direction along the eastern sideline of the Point Verde Road (cut off section) to a point on the northern sideline of Route 100 (realigned section) 550 metres, more or less; Then in a southerly direction along a line perpendicular to the centre line of the highway to a point, that point being 60 metres from the southern sideline of the highway; Then in a westerly direction along a line parallel to and 60 metres from the southern sideline of the highway 300 metres, more or less, to a point; Then south 47° 30' west 500 metres, more or less, to a high point ; Then south 33° 30' east 1,000 metres, more or less, to a point where an unnamed stream flows from an unnamed pond; Then south 83° 00' east 5,725 metres, more or less, to a high point ; Then north 88° 00' east 1,700 metres, more or less, to a high point, that point being on the westernmost extremity of South East River protected water supply area; Then in a northeasterly direction along the water supply area to a point on the southern shoreline of Southeast River ; Then in a general westerly direction along the southern shoreline of Southeast River and via the southern and western shoreline of Southeast Arm to a point on the southern abutment of a lift bridge spanning Northeast Arm; Then in a northerly direction along the eastern side of the lift bridge to the northern abutment of the bridge on the north side of Northeast Arm; Then in a general easterly direction along the northern shoreline of Northeast Arm to a point on the northern shoreline of the southernmost stream flowing into the easternmost extremity of the Arm, that stream flowing from O'Keefes Pond; Then in an easterly direction along the northern shoreline of the stream to a point on the northern end of a dam, that dam being on the water supply area boundary from the now or former American Recreation Facility; Then in an easterly direction along the water supply area to a high point , that point being south 85° 00' east and 3,100 metres from the last given point; Then due north 3,100 metres, more or less, to a point on the easternmost extremity of Healeys Pond; Then in a northwesterly direction to a point on the centre thread of the water course of an unnamed river and the westernmost extremity of White Cow Ponds; Then following the centre thread of the water course of the river to the highwater mark of Placentia Sound; Then in a southeasterly direction to a point on the northern limit of the Canadian National Railway right-of-way, that point being the easternmost corner of land leased to the United States of America and described in Schedule A of the American Bases (Supplementary Leases) Act, 1948; Then in a general westerly direction along the northern limits of the right-of-way to a point on the western boundary of the watershed area draining into a pond locally known as Clarke's Pond; Then in a northeasterly direction along the boundary of the watershed area to a high point , that point being north 50° 00' east 1,600 metres from the last given point; Then in a northeasterly direction to a point, that point being the highwater mark of the northernmost extremity of Broad Cove Point on the southern shoreline of Placentia Sound; Then following the sinuosities of the shoreline passing the Argentia Peninsula , Shalloway Point, Moll Point, Freshwater Cove, Cross Point to Black Cove, the point of beginning.
