CNLR 496/96 - Town of Witless Bay Order under the Municipalities Act

CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 496/96 Town of Witless Bay Order under the Municipalities Act (O.C. 96-170) Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order. ORDER Analysis 1. Short title 2. Boundaries 3. Repeal Schedule Short title 1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Witless Bay Order . Back to Top Boundaries 2. The boundaries of the Town of Witless Bay are as set out in the Schedule. Back to Top Repeal 3. Newfoundland Regulation 159/85 is repealed. Back to Top Schedule Beginning at a point, that point being the highwater mark on the easternmost extremity of Witless Point situate on the headlands between Witless Bay and Mobile Bay ; Then north 50° 00' west a distance of 3,790 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the centre line of the Southern Shore Highway at which point it crosses Gallows Cove River; Then in a westerly direction along the southern bank of the river to a point, that point being the centre line of the right-of-way of the hydro lines that run in a north-south direction; Then in a northerly direction along the centre line of the right-of-way a distance of 4,500 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being where the hydro lines divide; Then in a northeasterly direction along the centre line of the right-of-way of the westernmost hydro line which crosses the Witless Bay Line 1,640 metres, more or less, northwest of the intersection of Witless Bay Line and the Southern Shore Highway a distance of 620 metres, more or less, to a point on the northern side of the Witless Bay Line, that point being on a line perpendicular to and 80 metres from the centre line of the Witless Bay Line; Then in a southeasterly direction along a line parallel to and 80 metres from the centre line of the road to a point, that point being 380 metres, more or less, northwest of the intersection of the Witless Bay Line and the Southern Shore Highway; Then south 78° 30' east a distance of 540 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the intersection of the southern bank of an unnamed brook which flows out of Maggotty Cove Pond and the centre line of the Southern Shore Highway; Then south 78° 30' east a distance of 2,100 metres, more or less, to a point, that high point being the summit of Twelve O'Clock Hill; Then south 66° 15' east a distance of 2,550 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the highwater mark on the easternmost extremity of South Head; Then in a southwesterly and southeasterly direction along the sinuosities of the shoreline at highwater mark, passing Red Cove, Otter Cove, Bear Cove, Dennis Point , Gallows Cove, Ragged Point to Witless Point, the point of beginning.
