CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 765/96 Gander River Protected Area under the Urban and Rural Planning Act (O.C. 96-222) Under the authority of section 58 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council declares the area described to be the Gander River Protected Area . GANDER RIVER PROTECTED AREA Beginning at a point on the southern bank of an unnamed river where that river flows into the western side of the head of Gander Bay ; Then in a southwesterly direction along the southern bank of that river to a point, that point being 1,000 metres west of Gander Bay; Then in a generally southerly direction parallel to and 1,000 metres from the western shoreline of Gander Bay and then the western shoreline of Gander River to a point on the northern limit of the Town of Glenwood's Municipal Planning Area; Then in a generally easterly direction following the northern limit of that boundary to a point on the western shoreline of Gander River ; Then crossing Gander River and proceeding in a southerly direction along the eastern shoreline of that river to the northern limit of the Town of Appleton 's Municipal Planning Area; Then in a generally easterly direction along the northern limit of that boundary to a point, that point being 1,000 metres east of Gander River; Then in a generally northerly direction parallel to and 1,000 metres from the eastern shoreline of Gander River, and nevertheless, not encroaching within the 400 metres of the western side of Gander Bay Road, to a point on the highwater mark on the eastern shoreline of Gander Bay; Then in a generally northerly direction along the sinuosities of the eastern shoreline of Gander Bay to the southern bank of Barry's Brook; Then south 70° west, crossing Gander Bay , to the point of beginning.
