CNLR 906/96 - Port au Port East Local Planning Area under the Urban and Rural Planning Act

CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 906/96 Port au Port East Local Planning Area under the Urban and Rural Planning Act (O.C. 96-173) Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Port au Port East Local Planning Area. PLANNING AREA Beginning at a point in the most northeastern angle of Gravel's Pond and then crossing the main highway in a northerly direction to a point in the southern shoreline of the east bay of Port au Port Bay ; Then running in a generally northeasterly direction along the eastern shoreline of Port au Port Bay to a point at the mouth of a small brook, known locally as Smelt Brook; Then running in a generally southeasterly direction along the centre line of Smelt Brook a distance of 2,125 metres, more or less; Then running due east a distance of 2,900 metres, more or less, to a point on the eastern bank of Romaines Brook; Then running in a generally southwesterly direction along the eastern bank of Romaines Brook to a point where the bank intersects the northern shoreline of St. George's Bay ; Then crossing the mouth of the Romaines Brook and running in a generally westerly direction along the northern shoreline of St. George's Bay a distance of 4,175 metres, more or less, to a point in the northern shoreline of Isthmus Bay ; Then running due north a distance of 50 metres, more or less, across the Isthmus to a point in the southern shoreline of Gravel's Pond; Then running in a generally northeasterly direction along the shoreline to the point of beginning.
