CNLR 924/96 - St. George's Municipal Planning Area under the Urban and Rural Planning Act

CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 924/96 St. George's Municipal Planning Area under the Urban and Rural Planning Act (O.C. 96-173) Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the St. George's Municipal Planning Area. PLANNING AREA Beginning at a point at the highwater mark on the southern bank of Little Barachois Brook where the brook flows into St. George's Harbour ; Then in a generally easterly direction along the southern bank of Little Barachois Brook to the Trans Canada Highway ; Then south 45° east a distance of 2.65 kilometres, more or less; Then south 41° 30' east a distance of 1.1 kilometres, more or less; Then south 23° 30' west a distance of 3.9 kilometres, more or less, to the westernmost tip of an unnamed pond; Then south 50° west a distance of 8.35 kilometres, more or less, to the westernmost tip of Gull Pond; Then north 48° 30' west a distance of 9.2 kilometres, more or less, to a point on the northern bank of Flat Bay Brook; Then in a generally northwesterly direction along the northern bank of Flat Bay Brook to Flat Bay ; Then in a generally northeasterly direction along the highwater shoreline of Flat Bay passing Shallop Cove, Long Point, Turf Point and Indian Cove to the point of beginning. Also including the areas collectively known as Flat Island and described in the following Schedules A and B. Back to Top Schedule A Beginning at a point on the highwater shoreline of St. George's Bay where an unnamed brook flows into Young's Cove; Then in a generally northeasterly direction along the shoreline of a small peninsula extending into St. George's Bay to the easternmost tip of the peninsula; Then continuing along the shoreline in a generally southwesterly direction to a point having a military grid reference of 799616; Then south 45° west a distance of 350 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning. Back to Top Schedule B Beginning at a point having a military grid reference of 901681 and known as Harbour Point; Then in a generally southwesterly direction along the highwater shoreline of the island containing Sandy Point passing Messervey Point and Jacotar Point to the westernmost tip of the island; Then continuing along the shoreline in a generally northeasterly direction to the point of beginning.
