FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE AND CRITICAL ILLNESS LEAVE

Condition re family member 1. For the purposes of paragraph 12 of subsection 49.1 (3) of the Act and paragraph 12 of the definition of “family member” in subsection 49.4 (1) of the Act, the prescribed condition is that the employee must, on the employer’s request, provide the employer with a copy of the document provided to an agency or department of the Government of Canada for the purpose of claiming benefits under the Employment Insurance Act (Canada) in which it is stated that the employee is considered to be like a family member. 2.
