Ministry continued 2 The ministry of the Government of Saskatchewan called the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is continued. 9 Sep 2016 cE-13.1 Reg 4 s2. Objects and purposes 3(1) The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport are to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport may be exercised and carried out in relation to the following: (a) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to: (i) conserving, preserving, managing, protecting and developing Saskatchewan’s heritage; and (ii) conserving, preserving, managing, protecting and developing areas of prehistoric, environmental, recreational or archaeological interest or significance; (b) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that support a vibrant and sustainable arts community in Saskatchewan that is recognized and valued throughout Saskatchewan and at the national and international level; (c) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that relate to the recognition and appreciation of the diverse cultures and backgrounds of Saskatchewan people and that preserve and enhance Saskatchewan’s multicultural composition; (d) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to urban parks other than Wascana Centre; 4 MINISTRY OF PARKS, CULTURE E-13.1 REG 4 AND SPORT, 2016 (NO. 2) (e) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to the Royal Saskatchewan Museum; (f) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to sport and recreation; (g) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan relating to the cultural, physical and social development of youth. (2) In addition to the objects and purposes mentioned in subsection (1), the objects and purposes of the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport are the following: (a) to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women may be exercised and carried out; (b) to monitor programs, services and initiatives of the Government of Saskatchewan to determine their impact on women and on families and to recommend modifications to those programs, services and initiatives. 9 Sep 2016 cE-13.1 Reg 4 s3; 20 Nov 2020 SR 115/2020 s2.
