Definitions 2 In these regulations: “Act” means The Provincial Emblems and Honours Act; “medal” means the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan) established pursuant to section 23.3 of the Act. 26 Apr 2024 cP-30.2 Reg 2 s2. Criteria 3 To be eligible to be awarded the medal, an individual, in addition to meeting the criteria set out in the Act, must have been alive on February 6, 2022, being the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne of Canada. 26 Apr 2024 cP-30.2 Reg 2 s3. Nominations 4(1) The following persons and organizations are designated for the purposes of subsection 27.2(1.2) of the Act as persons and organizations that may nominate individuals to receive the medal in accordance with the Act and these regulations: (a) the Lieutenant Governor; (b) a member of the Executive Council; (c) a member of the Legislative Assembly, including the Speaker; (d) the Chief of Protocol; (e) the deputy minister or other head of a government institution; (f) Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations; (g) Métis Nation – Saskatchewan; (h) municipalities; (i) Canadian Armed Forces; 4 QUEEN ELIZABETH II PLATINUM P-30.2 REG 2 JUBILEE MEDAL (SASKATCHEWAN) (j) Royal Canadian Mounted Police; (k) an organization that is designated pursuant to The Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal Regulations for the purposes of subsection 27.2(1.1) of the Act; (l) non-governmental organizations. (2) For the purposes of clause (1)(e), “government institution” and “head” have the meanings given to them in The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. 26 Apr 2024 cP-30.2 Reg 2 s4. Coming into force 5(1) Subject to subsection (2), these regulations come into force on the day on which The Provincial Emblems and Honours Amendment Act, 2023 comes into force.
