Interpretation 2 In these regulations: (a) “Act” means The Horned Cattle Purchases Act; (b) “department” means the Department of Agriculture. 7 Oct 83 cH-6 Reg 1 s2. Interpretation 3 For the purposes of the Act: (a) “dehorned” means cattle with horns removed in such a manner as to ensure that no more than 50 mm of horn or boney tissue projects beyond the surface of the skull of the animal; (b) “owner” means a person who owns one or more head of cattle. 7 Oct 83 cH-6 Reg 1 s3. Returns 4(1) A return pursuant to section 4 of the Act for moneys required to be deducted pursuant to section 3 or subsection 5(2) of the Act is to be in Form A of the Appendix. Commissions 5(1) Every dealer is entitled to receive a commission of 3 per each head of cattle with horns with respect to which he deducts or collects the amount to be deducted pursuant to section 3 or subsection 5(2) of the Act. 4 H-6 REG 1 HORNED CATTLE PURCHASES, 1983 (2) Every operator of an auction market in Alberta that is prescribed as an approved inspection point in Alberta pursuant to subsection 6(2) is entitled to receive a commission of 10¢ per each head of cattle with horns with respect to which the operator deducts or collects the amount to be deducted pursuant to section 3 or subsection 5(2) of the Act. 3 Apr 87 SR 16/87 s4; 22 Sep 95 SR 67/95 s2. Out-of-province inspection points 6(1) For the purposes of section 5 of the Act, the approved inspection points for Manitoba are stockyards: (a) with respect to which the department has negotiated agreements for the collection of statutory deductions from Saskatchewan livestock owners; and (b) where cattle are inspected prior to sale. (2) For the purposes of section 5 of the Act, the approved inspection points for Alberta are inspected auction markets licensed pursuant to The Livestock and Livestock Products Act (Alberta) and The Licensing and Bonding of Livestock Dealers and Livestock Dealers’ Agents Regulations made pursuant to that Act. 2 Jne 95 SR 43/95 s2.
