Interpretation 2 In these regulations: (a) “animal hospital or clinic” means any building, in a district, that has been constructed or renovated to provide for the surgical or medical treatment of animals together with any office and dispensary accommodation attached to that building; (b) “fiscal year” means the period commencing on April 1 in one year and ending on March 31 in the following year. 17 Jly 81 cV-6 Reg 1 s2. Annual grants 3(1) Where the minister is satisfied that satisfactory veterinary service is being provided in a district, he may make a grant to the board of the district in each fiscal year in an amount not exceeding: (a) in the case of a district consisting of: (i) at least nine townships that are served by one veterinarian; or (ii) at least nine townships but fewer than 27 townships that are served by more than one veterinarian; the amounts determined in accordance with Table 1; (b) in the case of a district consisting of at least 27 townships that are served by more than one veterinarian, the amounts determined in accordance with Table 2. (2) Where a district is only in operation for a portion of the fiscal year to which a grant payable pursuant to subsection (1) relates, the minister shall prorate the amount of the grant. 17 Jly 81 cV-6 Reg 1 s3.
