1 MARTENSVILLE CONSTITUENCY BY-ELECTION c 1 The Martensville Constituency By-election Act being Chapter 1* of The Statutes of Saskatchewan, 2007 (effective March 7, 2007). *NOTE: Pursuant to subsection 33(1) of The Interpretation Act, 1995, the Consequential Amendment sections, schedules and/or tables within this Act have been removed. In order to preserve the integrity of the official Statutes and Regulations, errors that may have appeared are reproduced in this consolidation. 2 c 1 MARTENSVILLE CONSTITUENCY BY-ELECTION CHAPTER 1 An Act respecting a By-election in the Constituency of Martensville Short title 1 This Act may be cited as The Martensville Constituency By-election Act. Nancy Heppner deemed elected 2 Notwithstanding any other Act, with respect to the by-election held in the constituency of Martensville on March 5, 2007 for the purpose of electing a member of the Legislative Assembly, Nancy Heppner is deemed to have been duly elected at that by-election. 2007, c 1, s 2. Duties respecting election to be performed 3 All things and proceedings that are required by The Election Act, 1996, The Controverted Elections Act or any other Act to be done or taken with respect to the by-election described in section 2 are to be done or taken in the same manner that they would have been done or taken, and when done or taken have the same effect that they would have had, as if this Act had not been passed. 2007, c 1, s 3. Powers and privileges preserved 4 All things and proceedings that are required by The Election Act, 1996, The Controverted Elections Act or any other Act that may be done or taken with respect to the by-election described in section 2 may be done or taken in the same manner that they might have been done or taken, and when done or taken have the same effect that they would have had, as if this Act had not been passed. 2007, c 1, s 4. Consequences if Nancy Heppner determined not to be duly elected 5 If, after all things or proceedings mentioned in section 3 have been done or taken or the time within which all things or proceedings mentioned in section 4 may be done or taken has expired, it appears that Nancy Heppner was not duly elected: (a) section 2 is repealed; and (b) Nancy Heppner ceases to be a member of the Legislative Assembly. 2007, c 1, s 5.
