In order to preserve the integrity of the official Statutes and Regulations, errors that may have appeared are reproduced in this consolidation. 2 c H-16 HUNTING, FISHING AND TRAPPING HERITAGE CHAPTER H-16 An Act respecting Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Preamble WHEREAS hunting, fishing and trapping have played important roles in shaping Saskatchewan’s social, cultural and economic heritage; WHEREAS hunters, fishers and trappers have made important contributions to the understanding, conservation, restoration and management of Saskatchewan’s fish and wildlife resources; WHEREAS the best traditions of hunting, fishing and trapping should be valued by future generations; AND WHEREAS, it is desirable to observe a day to celebrate hunting, fishing and trapping as an integral part of Saskatchewan’s heritage; THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: Short title 1 This Act may be cited as The Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Heritage Act. Right to hunt, fish and trap 2(1) A person has the right to hunt, fish and trap in accordance with the law as it exists from time to time. (2) The reference to the law in subsection (1) includes The Wildlife Act, 1998, The Fisheries (Saskatchewan) Act, 2020, the Fisheries Act (Canada), the Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994 (Canada) and the regulations made pursuant to those Acts. 2010, c H-16, s 2; 2020, c 23, s 69.
