1 NATIONAL PEACEKEEPERS RECOGNITION DAY c N-1.1 The National Peacekeepers Recognition Day Act being Chapter N‑1.1 of The Statutes of Saskatchewan, 2008 (effective December 3, 2008). NOTE: This consolidation is not official and is subject to House amendments and Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel changes to Separate Chapters that may be incorporated up until the publication of the annual bound volume. Amendments have been incorporated for convenience of reference and the official Statutes and Regulations should be consulted for all purposes of interpretation and application of the law. In order to preserve the integrity of the official Statutes and Regulations, errors that may have appeared are reproduced in this consolidation. 2 c N-1.1 NATIONAL PEACEKEEPERS RECOGNITION DAY Table of Contents 1 Short title 2 National Peacekeepers Awareness Day 3 Coming into force 3 NATIONAL PEACEKEEPERS RECOGNITION DAY c N-1.1 CHAPTER N-1.1 An Act to recognize National Peacekeepers Day in Saskatchewan Preamble WHEREAS Saskatchewan has been a loyal supporter of the United Nations peacekeeping force; WHEREAS Saskatchewan men and women have served on peacekeeping missions around the world; WHEREAS Saskatchewan peacekeepers died in the pursuit of peace and did not return from their tour of duty; and WHEREAS the largest number of Canadian peacekeepers lost their lives participating in a peacekeeping operation while flying over Syria on August 9, 1974. THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: Short title 1 The National Peacekeepers Recognition Day Act. National Peacekeepers Awareness Day 2 August 9 each year is designated as National Peacekeepers Day in Saskatchewan. 2008, c N‑1.1, s 2.
