1 SASKATCHEWAN MUNICIPAL BOARD FEES M-23.2 REG 3 The Saskatchewan Municipal Board Fees Regulations being Chapter M-23.2 Reg 3 (effective January 1, 1992) as amended by Saskatchewan Regulations 4/92, 78/92, 1/94, 41/94, 32/95, 91/96, 66/2000, 84/2003, 1/2006 and 3/2010. Interpretation 2 In these regulations, “Act” means The Municipal Board Act. 22 Nov 91 cM-23.2 Reg 3 s2. 3 Repealed. 13 Dec 1996 SR 91/96 s2. Section 16 appeals 4(1) Subject to subsections (2) to (3.1), every person who makes an appeal to the board with respect to a matter mentioned in section 16 of the Act shall, at the time of filing the appeal, pay a fee of $50 for each $100,000, or portion of that amount, of the taxable assessment value of the land or improvements or both, the assessment of which is being appealed. (2) The maximum fee payable pursuant to subsection (1) is $600. (2.1) No fee is to be charged pursuant to clause (1)(a) where: (a) the person making the appeal has filed a previous assessment appeal of the same roll number that has not yet been heard; (b) the board is satisfied that the grounds of appeal relied on in the current appeal are identical to those relied on in the previous appeal; and (c) it is intended that the current and the previous appeal be heard concurrently. (3) Every person who makes an appeal to the board pursuant to The Local Improvements Act, 1993 or The Conservation and Development Act shall pay a fee of $50 at the time of filing the appeal. (3.1) Every person who makes an appeal to the board pursuant to section 213 of The Cities Act, section 243 of The Municipalities Act or section 239 of The Northern Municipalities Act shall pay a fee of $1,000. Application re sinking fund 6(1) Every local authority that has a sinking fund administered by the board pursuant to clause 19(1)(b) of the Act shall pay a fee for administering the sinking fund equal to 0.5% of the value of its sinking fund as at December 31 in a year. (2) The local authority shall pay the fee mentioned in subsection (1) as soon as reasonably possible after December 31. 22 Nov 91 cM-23.2 Reg 3 s6; 19 Feb 2010 SR 3/2010 s4. Fees re debentures 7(1) Every local authority shall pay the fee prescribed in Table 1 of the Appendix for authorizing the issue of its debentures pursuant to section 67 of the Act and typing of its debentures. (2) The local authority shall pay the fee mentioned in subsection (1): (a) by cheque; and (b) on or before the day the debentures are signed and sealed by the board. 22 Nov 91 cM-23.2 Reg 3 s7. Fees for official documents, etc. 8(1) In this section, “official document” means a: (a) document; 5 SASKATCHEWAN MUNICIPAL BOARD FEES M-23.2 REG 3 (b) report; (c) regulation; (d) decision; (e) order; or (f) record from the hearings or inquiries or appeals; of the board. (2) Subject to subsection (3), every person requesting an official document shall pay a fee of $0.50 per page of the document requested. (3) Every person requesting the transcript of a hearing, an inquiry or an appeal of a hearing before the board shall pay a fee equal to the cost to the board of producing the transcript. 22 Nov 91 cM-23.2 Reg 3 s8.
