Statute overview

About this statute

This Act continues the Yukon Foundation and gives its board powers to manage donations, property, income, and trusts, while requiring board governance, audits, and a Yukon registered office. If the foundation is winding up, dissolving, or its registration is revoked and there is no board to decide the asset transfer, the Chief Justice must appoint a trustee who must transfer the assets to a qualifying charitable organization. The provision also keeps pre-existing board members and bylaws in place after enactment, revokes the foundation’s society registration, and excludes the Business Corporations Act from applying to the foundation.
