Withdrawal of Certain Lands (Baffin Island N.W.T.) from Disposal Order

Order Withdrawing from Disposal, Setting Apart and Appropriating Certain Lands in the Northwest Territories for Use as a National Park This Order may be cited as the Withdrawal of Certain Lands (Baffin Island N.W.T.) from Disposal Order. It is hereby ordered, for the purpose of a national park, to withdraw from disposal under the Territorial Lands Act the lands described in the schedule, including all mines, minerals, easements, servitudes and all other interests in real property. The lands described in the schedule are set apart and appropriated for use as a national park. This Order is effective as of February 22, 1972. In the Northwest Territories; on, and adjacent to, Cumberland Peninsula of Baffin Island; all that parcel being more particularly described as follows, all topographic features hereinafter referred to being according to the first editions of the Pangnirtung, Clearwater Fiord, Nedlukseak Fiord, Ekalugad Fiord, Home Bay, Okoa Bay, Padloping Island and Cap Dyer map sheets, and an unnamed map sheet, numbers 26I, 26J, 26O, 27B, 27A, 26P, 16M and N, 16L and K and 26N respectively of the National Topographic System, produced at a scale of 1:250,000 by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (formerly Department of Mines and Technical Surveys) at Ottawa: COMMENCING at the summit of Overlord Peak, located at the northeasterly end of Pangnirtung Fiord, at approximate latitude 66°22′40″ and longitude 65°26′20″; THENCE, northwesterly in a straight line to a peak having an elevation of about 4,500 feet, at approximate latitude 66°24′00″ and longitude 65°33′20″; THENCE, northerly in a straight line to the summit of Aegir Peak, at approximate latitude 66°24′50″ and longitude 65°33′40″; THENCE, northerly in a straight line to the summit of Niord Peak, at approximate latitude 66°26′20″ and longitude 65°34′00″; THENCE, northerly in a straight line to a peak having an elevation of about 4,000 feet, at approximate latitude 66°29′30″ and longitude 65°33′30″; THENCE, due south to a point on the ordinary low water mark along the southerly side of the entrance to said unnamed fiord, the last aforesaid point being at approximate latitude 68°17′30″ and longitude 67°01′00″; THENCE, in a general easterly direction along the last aforesaid height of land to a peak having an elevation of about 2,500 feet, at approximate latitude 67°20′00″ and longitude 64°03′20″; THENCE, southeasterly in a straight line to the ordinary low water mark at the easterly extremity of a point of land at the northerly side of the entrance to North Pangnirtung Fiord, the last aforesaid extremity being at approximate latitude 67°16′00″ and longitude 63°57′20″; THENCE, southerly in a straight line to a peak having an elevation of about 2,000 feet, at approximate latitude 67°11′00″ and longitude 63°55′20″; THENCE, southeasterly in a straight line to a peak having an elevation of about 2,500 feet, at approximate latitude 67°07′20″ and longitude 63°48′40″; THENCE, southerly in a straight line to a peak at approximate latitude 67°02′20″ and longitude 63°52′20″, the last aforesaid peak being approximately at the position indicated by the spot elevation 4,364 feet shown on said Padloping Island map sheet; THENCE, southerly in a straight line to a peak having an elevation of about 4,000 feet, at approximate latitude 66°55′00″ and longitude 63°56′00″; THENCE, southwesterly in a straight line to a peak having an elevation of about 3,500 feet, at approximate latitude 66°50′40″ and longitude 64°08′40″;
