Credit cooperatives may carry out the same kinds of operations as other credit institutions, but active operations with third parties may not exceed 50% of the entity’s total resources. Las fusiones, escisiones o transformaciones que afecten a una cooperativa de crédito necesitan autorización administrativa previa y un informe del Banco de España. Si la entidad resultante sigue siendo cooperativa de crédito, debe inscribirse en el registro correspondiente y cumplir las demás obligaciones registrales.
