Statute overview

About this statute

Certain workers, and accompanying dependent family members, may receive health care benefits in the other Party’s territory if they meet the conditions of the applicable legislation. Los familiares de un trabajador asegurado que vivan en el territorio de la otra Parte Contratante tienen derecho a prestaciones sanitarias allí, salvo que ya tengan ese derecho por la ley del país donde residen. Certain pension or income holders, and in some cases their family members or dependents, are entitled to health-care benefits from the institution in the place of residence or stay. Expenses arising from healthcare services provided by one Party’s institution on behalf of the other Party’s institution are to be reimbursed under the agreements made under Article 35. The residence-or-stay institution may supply certain prostheses, orthoses, technical aids, and rehabilitation services only with authorization from the competent institution, except in emergencies and in two specified low-cost cases.
