Statute overview

About this statute

Some acts of the Catalan Council of Justice that cannot be appealed administratively to the General Council of the Judiciary may be challenged in court under the terms set by law. Certain judicial and prosecution staff in Catalonia must prove adequate or sufficient knowledge of Catalan and, in some cases, Catalan law and the two official languages. The Generalitat has regulatory and executive powers over non-judicial staff serving the Administration of Justice. La Generalitat is responsible for the material resources of justice administration in Catalonia, including buildings, equipment, IT and communications systems, archives, certain seized items, some court deposit accounts, and judicial fees it establishes within its powers.
