Statute overview

About this statute

This section lists diseases classified as generally dangerous infectious diseases and diseases that must be reported. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health must carry out health education and national information on combating infectious diseases, follow and promote related research and its application, and perform other separately prescribed prevention duties. The County Administrative Board must carry out added infectious disease prevention and supervision tasks in its area. The hospital district must ensure specialist services for treating communicable diseases are available, provide training, help develop communicable disease control, give requested summary information to the health center’s responsible physician with disclosure limits in mind, and inform health care professionals regionally. The municipal infectious-disease body and the doctor under it must carry out several infectious-disease control tasks in the health center area.
