Statute overview

About this statute

Chapter 1: General provisions. An options company running options exchange business must itself do clearing and settlement, notify Finansinspektionen and the Bank of Finland in advance about certain system changes, and provide enough information for assessment; it may outsource clearing/settlement in some cases, and Finansinspektionen may prohibit use of non-Finnish options companies if reliability is at risk. Optionsföretagsverksamhet may not be carried on without a concession from the Ministry of Finance. An options company must meet minimum capital requirements, and certain share acquisitions must be reported in advance to Finansinspektionen. Finansministeriet may also attach conditions when granting a concession. Ett optionsföretag får bedriva vissa tjänster och clearing-/kontoföringsfunktioner, men får inte äga vissa aktier, andelar eller underliggande tillgångar utan särskilt tillstånd.
