Statute overview

About this statute

This chapter sets out the conditions for receiving unemployment daily allowance. Unemployment allowance is paid only after a waiting period of seven full working days within at most eight consecutive calendar weeks, if the person has been an unemployed jobseeker at the employment office or has taken recorded training. The wage base for an employee’s earnings-related daily allowance is calculated from the person’s stabilised wage before unemployment, with seasonal work and wages calculated on annual income. Training allowance is available only if, when the training starts, the person is an unemployed job seeker at the employment and economic development office and the training is included in a job search plan or employment plan. An applicant can receive education daily allowance only if their work time is at least 10 years when training begins.
