About this statute
An inlåningsbank must give the depositor deposit-guarantee information before an account agreement is signed, and in some remote-contract cases soon after signing; if the information is given electronically, the depositor can request paper form. The deposit bank must give the depositor certain account information in writing or another durable form, at least once a year, while the account agreement is in force. The deposit bank must give the section 2 information in Finnish or Swedish, unless the bank and depositor agree before the account agreement to use another language. A foreign branch must give that information in the official language of its home state, or in another pre-agreed language. Denna förordning träder i kraft den 1 juli 2015. Deposit banks must update account agreements and information systems to meet the regulation’s requirements within six months after the regulation enters into force.
