Agriculture (Abolition of County Committees) Act (Northern Ireland) 1972 An Act to provide for the abolition of county committees of agriculture established under the Agriculture Act (Northern Ireland) 1949, and for purposes connected therewith. The Minister of Agriculture may, by order made subject to affirmative resolution,— abolish, as from such date as may be specified in the order, the county committees of agriculture established under section 2 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Agriculture Act (Northern Ireland) 1949 ; transfer, to such persons as may be specified in the order, the functions exercisable immediately before that date by those committees under section 3 of that Act; and make such other provisions as appear to him to be necessary or expedient in consequence of such abolition. Subs.(2) repeals ss.2, 3 of, and sch.1 to, 1949 c.2 (NI); s.2(4) of 1959 c.2 (NI) This Act may be cited as the Agriculture (Abolition of County Committees) Act (Northern Ireland) 1972. 1949 c.2 SRO (NI) 1972/124
