Statute overview

About this statute

Public office holders covered by section 3 must file a written declaration of their assets and liabilities with the Auditor-General. The Auditor-General must file a written declaration of assets and liabilities to the President. This section says the Act applies only to the public offices listed in Schedule I. This section lists the kinds of property that must be declared under the Act. Assets a public officer acquires after the initial declaration are treated as illegally acquired if they cannot reasonably be linked to income, gift, loan, inheritance, or another reasonable source.
