About this statute

This section creates the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation as a body corporate with perpetual succession, and lets it acquire, hold, and dispose of property and enter related transactions. If property acquisition is hindered, the property may be acquired under the State Lands Act and the Corporation must bear the cost. The Corporation’s object is to promote and develop an integrated iron and steel industry. The Corporation must carry out listed functions to develop the integrated iron and steel industry. The Corporation has powers to enter joint ventures and do related activities, and it must also support Ghanaian equity participation, skills transfer, and industrial park development in the integrated iron and steel industry. The Corporation’s governing body is a Board with specified members, and the President appoints those members under article 70 of the Constitution.
